The UAE Government Media Office (GMO) was established in August 2020 with the aim of overseeing the UAE Media Strategy and leading government media during the important phase in which the country is preparing for the next 50 years.
The GMO undertakes a set of tasks, including proposing and preparing media policies, legislation, directions and strategies, and unifying the media discourse and media messages of the UAE government locally and internationally in a way that highlights the developments and prosperity achieved by the country.
The office is also tasked with developing the country's soft power and public diplomacy strategies, managing the visual media identity, and managing media campaigns for strategic national projects and official events.
The GMO is responsible for representing the UAE in the media at all external and regional levels, building positive ties with international media organizations, managing media crises, and dealing with foreign and international media, in addition to managing the social media channels of the UAE government and conducting specialized studies and research in areas related to the office’s specializations.
