Sticky Feet Productions is pioneering the creation and distribution of co-designed films: films that empower a participatory audience community to collaboratively choose, suggest, and influence production decisions from script to screen.
Supported by the Morehead Cain Foundation + the Odum Institute at UNC Chapel Hill, we are touring NYU, University of Georgia, Amherst, and Elon University (+more pending) to host codesigned filmmaking workshops, screen Sticky Feet Movie, survey Gen Z to refine our audience participation strategy, and amplify student work this Fall.
Sticky Feet Movie began in January 2022 and premiered to a sold out show of 220+ people in February 2023. It is a comedy, coming-of-age short film codesigned with a participatory audience community of 400+ UNC Chapel Hill students who determined production decisions from script to editing to premiere.
Sticky Feet follows the high expectations, anxieties, and missteps of college student Shelby when throwing her roommate, Brynna, a 21st “slutfest of a rager” birthday party - the first party they’ve hosted since Covid restrictions lifted.
