The Georgia Tech Supersonics Club (GTSC) is a student organization founded in 2023 to bring high-speed aerodynamics and propulsion systems to the Georgia Institute of Technology club space. We are an enthusiastic group of students united by a common passion for high-speed aircraft, whose mission is to promote innovation in the aerospace industry.
GTSC's foremost goal is to break the Guinness World Record for the fastest remote-control aircraft. The aircraft must weigh less than 25 kg during take-off, utilize a fully airbreathing engine, and take off and land with its own power. After the completion of this goal, GTSC will work towards developing faster and more maneuverable designs with different engine configurations and airframes.
GTSC offers a unique platform for Georgia Tech students at the undergraduate and graduate levels the opportunity to apply the theory learned in their courses to real-world problems, better preparing them for the professional world. Also, our program offers a unique design perspective for members to be involved in all subsystems of a very complex machine, fostering well-rounded knowledge of how the aircraft's systems integrate with each other.
We are open to collaborations with industry partners and individual researchers who share our passion for high-speed flight. If you are interested in supporting our cause, contributing to our projects, or simply following along on our journey to break records, feel free to connect with us.
