Ovum AS is a Norwegian limited company established in 2016. The company originated from Hauge Aqua AS, founded in 2012 by Cato Lyngøy, Arthur Lyngøy and Audun Dahl.
The establishment in 2012 was driven by Cato Lyngøy's idea of a closed, floating facility shaped like an egg. The goal has always been to create an environmentally friendly and sustainable alternative for fish farming.
The technology division of Hauge Aqua, formerly known as Hauge Aqua Solutions, changed its name to Ovum AS in May 2022. This happened simultaneously with the launch of the very first Egget®. The name reflects what we deliver. "Ovum" is a Latin word that means egg.
After ten years of planning, we were finally able to introduce fish into the first Egget® in October 2022. The experiences so far demonstrate significant potential. The experiences from the first fish group that lived in Egget® show that the fish grew rapidly, the feed conversion ratio was low, there were no escapes, and almost no lice.
Collection of organic solids surpassed our expectation, and the mortality rate was at a record-low of one percent.
Some years down the road Ovum AS is set to become a publicly listed company, initially delivering facilities to the Norwegian market and later expanding globally. Our aim is for Ovum to be a leading innovator and supplier of Floating Closed Systems for the international aquaculture industry.
