In 1774, Thomas Jefferson, one of America's first wine connoisseurs, convinced Italian Philip Mazzei to establish a vineyard on our property. With the financial support of Thomas Jefferson, George Washington and other prominent colonists, the Virginia Wine Company was founded on present day Jefferson Vineyards.
Over the past 35 years, our family owned farm winery has produced award winning Virginia wines in a stunning location. Located between Monticello and Ash Lawn Highland, we are open 7 days a week. Tastings are $12 and include a souvenir glass. We look forward to your visit.
