The Lauder Schools affiliated to the Jewish Community of Prague are part of a network of Jewish educational institutions in Central and Eastern Europe that have been established with the financial and organizational support of the Ronald S. Lauder Foundation.
The Lauder Schools of Prague were found 1997 and consist of Gan Jehuda kindergarten, Gur Arieh elementary school and Or Chadash high school.
The Jewish schools in Prague follow standard curricula, as well as offering Jewish education and Hebrew lessons. Judaism and Hebrew form a specific part of the study program of each Jewish school. Lessons in Judaism not only familiarize students with key religious principles, but also explain all the basic aspects that are closely related to the history and culture of the Jews. In addition to compulsory subjects, they also provide various extracurricular activities, such as projects in Hebrew and Jewish traditions, thematic seminars, Q-and-A meetings, an after-school club and special-interest activities.
