NAMI Illinois is the statewide organization of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the nation’s largest grassroots network working to improve the lives of people and families with lived experience with mental health concerns.
Each year, NAMI Illinois works with 20 local affiliates to provide education, advocacy, and peer-led support programs to touch the lives of over 50,000 Illinoisans. Major areas of work include training the volunteer facilitators who deliver NAMI programs, organizing statewide policy & legislative advocacy, developing original communications and educational programming, convening stakeholders at conferences and working groups, and providing leadership to strategic initiatives that address agency priorities and advance Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion across the mental health community. All NAMI classes, support groups, and informational resources are offered free of charge.
