Kathmandu Living Labs, established in 2013, is one the leading non-profit civic-tech companies in Nepal that works with a wide range of stakeholders--including academia, youth groups, development agencies and the government--to bring data, technology and people together. KLL’s primary expertise is developing mobile and web based civic technology products and services that have been massively used for disaster response and recovery, increasing urban resilience, and fostering civic engagement in local governance. KLL champions the open data and OpenStreetMap movement in Nepal and Asia. KLL has also been involved in research and implementation of research output in the ground with universities in Nepal, US, UK and Germany for bridging the Science-to-Society gap.
