In Israel there are over 82,000 people with epilepsy today. About 30% remain untreatable and experience seizures of varying frequency and intensity, which hinder their daily functioning and routine and that of those close to them. Moreover, those who suffer from epilepsy also suffer from social exclusion, prejudice, and find it difficult to seek employment, maintain social relationships and often require assistance and empowerment.
The Israel Association for Epilepsy is a public non profit organization founded in 1985 by parents of children with epilepsy, together with the support of neurologists and educators, recognized for their support to improve the quality of life and well-being of those with epilepsy as well as their families .
The organization is run by a team of dedicated volunteers with family members suffering from epilepsy
