In the spirit of global citizenship the Russian-African Forum (RAF) engages political, business, academic and other thought leaders in collaborative efforts to shape investment, trade and technology transfer flows between Russia and the African continent.
We shall work together to define challenges, solutions and actions, always keeping in mind the best interests of our people and their needs for safety and prosperity.
The first meeting of the Russian-African Forum took place in Kenya’s capital Nairobi on January 27-31, 2015.
Leading Russian export companies and business representatives from Kenya and Rwanda joined in the discussion of cooperation opportunities in the East African region. Priority energy and infrastructure projects were among those discussed during the Forum at the highest level, along with discussion of financing at a meeting with the Kenyan Minister of Energy and the country’s main state energy companies, including KenGen, the National Oil Corporation, the Nuclear Electricity Board and the Electricity Generation Company.
The second Russian-African Forum was held in 2015 in the City of Ekaterinburg, the industrial heart of Russia as an integral part of the international industrial fair Innoprom supported by the Ministry of Trade and the industry of the Russian Federation. The event was attended by nearly 100 representatives of public and private companies as well as politicians from Kenya, the Republic of South Africa, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Zambia, Angola, Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Rwanda.
The nest Russian-African Forum (RAF) takes place in Tanzania (April, 27-28) and Zimbabwe (April, 26-30) during the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair, and during the INNOPROM Forum in Ekaterinburg in Russia (July, 12-14).
