Aurora exists to inspire the aspirations and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Aurora delivers a suite of interrelated programs that walk with Indigenous students through each stage of their educational development and builds the future Indigenous professional workforce.
• High School Program - The Aspiration Initiative, provides intensive academic support over a 5½ year period to Indigenous high school students to increase rates of university eligibility.
• Indigenous Scholarships Portal is an innovative technology-based solution that simplifies the process of applying for scholarships for Indigenous students for tertiary study in Australia.
• Indigenous Internship Program facilitates internships for Indigenous university students and graduates into Indigenous-sector organisations and builds vital career exposure and pathways.
• International Postgraduate Scholarship program supports talented Indigenous scholars to aspire to, apply for and successfully complete postgraduate studies at world-leading universities. The scholarships are awarded through the Charlie Perkins Scholarship Trust and the Roberta Sykes Indigenous Education Foundation, both of which are delivered by Aurora.
• International Executive Education program support Indigenous managers and leaders to attend short courses that grow skills confidence to lead their organisations.
• Academic Role Model Outreach program facilitates outstanding Indigenous academic scholars from Aurora’s network to become role models into schools in communities.
