The Artists' Association of Finland (Suomen Taiteilijaseura – Konstnärsgillet i Finland) is the umbrella organisation of visual artists in Finland. Through our member organisations – the Artist Association MUU, the Association of Finnish Sculptors, the Association of Finnish Printmakers, Finnish Painters' Union and the Union of Artist Photographers – we represent more than 3 000 professional artists.
The mission of the Artists' Association of Finland is to advance and support favorable working conditions of visual artists, such as funding, social security and work opportunities. We work to secure policy and legislative change to encourage the growth and development of the sector. We also provide services to our members, including training courses and legal advice on, for example, contracts, social security and taxation.
The association also works to increase the general public’s interest in visual art. We offer up-to-date information on the visual arts field to decision-makers, journalists as well the general public. Our partners include key players in visual art and professional organisations in other fields. Through projects we focus on topical issues such as public art and making a living as a self-employed artist. Biannually the association produces the Young Artists exhibition, a showcase of new Finnish contemporary art.
We also run an online publication called Taiteilija (Artist) at taiteilijalehti.fi
The Artists’ Association of Finland is a member of the International Association of Art (IAA).
