Nobel Week Lights Stockholm is an annual light festival that takes place during the Nobel week in December.
Directly inspired by Nobel Prize-awarded discoveries, artworks illuminate the Stockholm winter darkness and invite new insights into the research, lives and contributions of Nobel Laureates.
International and local artists and designers create large-scale public light art that presents these impactful discoveries at a monumental scale while welcoming the audience to reimagine the city of Stockholm and the urban environment.
Nobel Week Lights is an opportunity for the public to share a high quality artistic experience outdoors with their nearest and dearest, completely free of charge. Light plays a critical role in the way we see the world around us, and Nobel Week Lights aims to shed new light on subjects as well as locations in the city that may have been previously unknown to the audience.
Nobel Week Lights is initiated and produced by Annika Levin, Alexandra Manson and Lara Szabo Greisman from Troika. The initiative has been undertaken in collaboration with the Nobel Prize Museum with support from the City of Stockholm, as well as a range of other partners and supporters.
