D66 is a party with a strong international character. D66 supports a sustainable, democratic and open society, not only in The Netherlands but worldwide. Human rights and free and fair elections are essential in this global perspective, they constitute the basis for a democratic society. D66 works together with fraternal partners (political parties and civil society organisations) in order to support democratisation processes abroad.
