The Armidale School is an independent Anglican co-educational school from pre-kindergarten to Year 12 offering boarding from Year 6. Established in 1894 and located in the vibrant regional city of Armidale in northern NSW, TAS became fully co-educational in 2016 with a third of the school’s enrolment now girls, including in boarding. With current enrolments at 630 (including 230 boarders), TAS has a Junior School offering the IB Primary Years Programme (Years T-5), Middle School offering the IB Middle Years Programme (Years 6-8) and Senior School (9-12) offering the HSC.
TAS is one of the oldest boarding schools in the State, with half of the secondary students living on the campus. TAS encourages the pursuit of academic success as well as participation in the full breadth of the co-curricular and outdoor activities programs that shape the development of character, resilience and a passion for life. Activities such as cadets (TAS is the one of the three oldest cadet units in Australia), surf life saving and Rural Fire Service are complemented by service trips and expeditions in Australia and overseas.
TAS is the only regional member of the Athletic Association of Great Public Schools (AAGPS NSW), as well as being a member of Round Square, a world-wide association of schools that believe education is not just about academic achievement, but also about giving students the opportunity, through adventure, leadership and service activities, to prove to themselves that they can make a difference.
