Mission Statement:
Saint Mark's School seeks to develop the unique intellect and character of each student in a nurturing environment committed to academic excellence, respect for diversity, self-responsibility and spiritual growth.
About Saint Mark's:
Saint Mark’s is an independent, Episcopal school for students in preschool through grade 6. We intentionally pair strong academics with social-emotional learning to help students thrive and grow into intelligent, well-rounded leaders. Situated on a beautiful five-acre campus in the foothills of Altadena, our outdoor spaces provide ample room to learn and play. We believe that the social and emotional development of our students is equally important to their intellectual growth. Our holistic and relational approach to early childhood and elementary education allows a supportive and safe space for students to engage in their learning. With a low student-to-teacher ratio, we are intentional in maximizing students' learning potential and interests. Our well-rounded program equips students with the necessary tools to think critically and creatively, fostering an intellectual curiosity that creates lifelong learners. Our diverse community—from our faculty and staff to our highly engaged parents—models the confidence, resilience, and compassion that we strive to instill in our students who go on to become thoughtful leaders and active citizens in their community and their world.
