Victim Support Service (VSS) is a statewide, independent not-for-profit organisation in South Australia that has been providing support to people affected by crime and abuse since 1979. Our specialist Redress Support Service provide practical and therapeutic support to adult survivors of institutional child sexual abuse. This service is free and available across both metropolitan and regional South Australia.
VSS' founding program, the VSS Court Companions, coordinates volunteers to provide support to victims of crime in Court when they give their evidence. Our volunteers sit alongside vulnerable witnesses during proceedings, as well as waiting with them at Court, often for days at a time.
With almost 40 years’ experience, we know the impact that crime and abuse have on people’s lives, and what it takes to help them get their lives back on track. We’re proud to serve victims and witnesses in South Australia by campaigning for their rights and helping to improve their experiences of the criminal justice system.
