Orion Racing India is a student run, non-profit racing team operating from their workshop at Vidyavihar, Mumbai. Under the supervision of K.J.Somaiya College of Engineering, Orion Racing India design, manufacture and race a Formula style car to compete with other universities at the international level, at Formula Student Germany. Students not only get a golden opportunity to put their smarts in the various fields of engineering to use, but also learn how to manage a project of this size and work in a team to compete against the best and brightest students all around the world. Consistently adjudged the best Asian team at FSG, ORI has brought India laurels and won accolades for its performances over the years. In addition to achieving technical brilliance, ORI has also won acclaim in team co-operation and resource management, having placed 3rd at the Cost Report event in FSG'10. Orion Racing has since, come a long way from a hobby idea to a semi-professional project par excellence.
