Global Network MX-NZ (GNMxNz) operates in conjunction with Mexico's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Mexico in New Zealand.
GNMxNz is also linked to CONACYT, which is Mexico's entity in charge of the promotion of scientific and technological activities, setting government policies for these matters, and granting scholarships for postgraduate studies.
Essentially, GNMxNz is a non-profit organisation that seeks to connect, engage and organise highly qualified Mexicans living in New Zealand and facilitate social, cultural, scientific and trade opportunities between the two countries.
GNMxNz was founded in 2013 in Christchurch, Canterbury and it was registered as a non-profit organisation at New Zealand's Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment on the 27th of February of the same year. The inaugural event was attended by Mexico's former Ambassador to New Zealand, Leonora Rueda, Mexico's General Consul Rodrigo Azaola and Honorary Consul, Keith Hales.
From a broader perspective, GNMxNz is affiliated to Red Global Mexico (Global Network Mexico), which has close to 7,000 highly qualified members across 57 chapters in 27 countries (http://redtalentos.gob.mx/).
