Founded in 1990, Politecnico di Bari dates back to 1944 with its school of engineering.
It is an Italian state university and one of the three Polytechnic universities of Italy. It specializes, by law, in science and technology. Politecnico di Bari provides BSc, MSc and Ph.D. degrees for architects, engineers and industrial designers with the corresponding academic qualifications, as well.
It is a technical university with main campus located in Bari (Italy), and secondary premises in Taranto and Foggia. It is organized in 5 large departments:

According to the SIR 2013 World Report, about the quality of scientific research produced, the Politecnico di Bari ranked first among the Italian universities for excellence rate.
