Samling Group of Companies is a Malaysian conglomerate with diverse business interests from forest resource management to oil palm plantation, property development and automotive business in various countries globally. Established in 1963 and headquartered in Sarawak, we have more than 20,000 dedicated employees across our international footprint.
The Group’s core business is in the management of forest resource and manufacturing of wood products. Our integrated timber business covers the entire supply chain, from the management and harvesting of forest resources to transportation, processing, manufacturing and sales and distribution of wood products in different regions around the world. Other significant businesses within the Group include oil palm plantations and a notable property development project in Kuala Lumpur.
Up to early 2013, there were three public listed companies under the Group, namely Samling, Lingui Developments Berhad and Glenealy Plantations (Malaya) Berhad. Samling was listed in Hong Kong while Lingui Developments and Glenealy Plantations were listed on Bursa Malaysia. A privatization exercise was undertaken in 2012-2013 with the objective of achieving a more efficient and effective utilization of resources within the Group, and will allow for the introduction of a structure that will facilitate the future growth of our businesses in the long run.
Today, there are three flagship companies in the Samling Group – Samling Strategic Corporation Sdn Bhd (timber-based), Glenealy Plantations (Malaya) Berhad (oil palm based) and Perdana ParkCity Sdn Bhd (property development).
