GODOT provides waste-to-value processing for the industrial agriculture sector. GODOT transforms local waste into local value using hydrothermal carbonization (HTC). The process converts waste of all kinds—wet or dry—into carbon-rich solids and other commercially viable byproducts. The primary output, hydrochar, has both economic and environmental value. Effective use cases for hydrochar are in bioenergy, activated charcoal, soil amendmendent, and water/soil pollution remediation. Dried, hydrochar is a solid fuel source for electricity or hydrogen (H2) production. GODOT seeks to build networks of HTC machines to leverage feedstock availability at or near industrial agricultural processing facilities. This approach offers producers and processors new revenue streams as it reduces supply chain risks and eliminates costs related to treatment, stabilization, and disposal. HTC processing produces significant environmental benefits by diverting solid waste from landfills and reducing both methane and CO2 emissions. Agri-food waste is a major source of climate emissions, driving 6% of all warming—that’s triple aviation’s footprint. By shifting the economic logic of industrial food waste from a disposal problem to a feedstock opportunity, GODOT solves intrinsic and persistent biomass waste challenges in the agriculture industry.
