Compotite Shower Pan a pioneer in the shower waterproofing industry since 1938, was founded in Los Angeles to manufacture and market "COMPOTITE": a patented waterproofing material substitute for lead shower pans developed by G.A. Morthland. By 1958 the company was incorporated and soon Compotite Shower Pan was included in all model plumbing codes and sold nationwide.
COMPOSEAL Blue Vinyl Shower Pan was introduced in 1979 and it soon replaced "Good Old Compotite" completely by 1985 because of its popularity, ease of installation and economic price.
COMPOSEAL Blue is made from high density PVC resins and calendered into a strong waterproof, puncture resistant, chemical resistant and mildew resistant membrane. It meets or exceeds the requirements of the three major plumbing codes: UPC/IAPMO, SBCCI, BOCA and the new International Plumbing Code. It also meets the ASTM and Ceramic Tile Institute requirements for non-bonded waterproof membranes.
