Quinta da Pedra Alta (high stone) is located above the Pinhão River in the Cima Corgo sub-region of the Douro Valley. Our 35ha of terraced vineyards sit between 230 and 550 metres above sea level and are planted with a selection of indigenous varieties on schist soils. They are also home to 3 of the granite markers (Feitoria), that were put in place in 1761 for the demarcation of the Port region. Following the purchase of the Quinta in 2018, we are now starting an exciting new chapter in our long history as a brand new range of wines and ports is being released. The new owners' intentions are to help our winemaker, João Pires, realise the full potential of this amazing piece of land.
