Oregon Building Supplies was started in 1991 by Bill McDonald and Phil Oliver, both born and bred in Tauranga with plenty of experience in the local building industry. With only the barest necessities, a hefty mortgage and plenty of stress, Bill and Phil put all their energy into establishing a solid business based on simple principles – Honesty and Service with a Smile. That’s the way that you will still find business being done today. In 1993 proud Oregon Building Supplies became a member of the ITM Co-Op (Independent Timber Merchants Cooperative) in New Zealand. The company’s growth has been carefully managed over the years in line with commercial and regional growth enabling the evolution into the Oregon Group, now comprising 5 companies and over 70 staff. Today Oregon Group is one of the largest privately owned building supply companies in the Bay of Plenty. We are particularly proud of our team members, who help make the company successful.
