Carbon Design Innovations has a novel process for producing carbon nanotubes that are predictably straight and we can also form them into any desired shape.
Our first application is for Atomic Force Microscope (AFM) Probes. Although this has been attempted for years without success, the company has patented processes that allows us to make CNTs that are straight, strong and durable. This means when used as an AFM probe the angle remains normal to the surface in the compression regime and do not bend so that there are no trailing artifacts. Additionally, we stabilize them at the base so that they do not break off from the cantilever if they crash. Finally, because of the stabilization process, we can make them longer and have examples of 3 micron cell images, deep trench images of semiconductors and more.
