Rockaway Theatre Company (RTC) is a high-end community theatre group dedicated to bringing high-quality theatre to the Rockaways. RTC has a proud history of attracting performers who have been seen on Broadway, Off-Broadway, on Television and in Opera venues within the Tri-State area. RTC's home venue is a renovated movie theatre on the historic Fort Tilden Army Base Campus. The Post Theatre was restored and renovated which created more stage space, a procenium arch, theatrical lighting/sound/effects, dressing area and modern facilities. RTC is staffed by volunteers from the community. All production staff are experienced volunteers covering all aspects of theatre production including house management, stage management, musical direction, sound design, set construction and more. RTC is a registered 501(c)(3) tax-deductable nonprofit agency. RTC's actors are also all volunteers! RTC is well known in the ON and OFF Broadway community as a consistent starting point for performers of all backgrounds. Some of our performers who started out at RTC are currently on Broadway or have a history of Brodaway or Broadway Theatre Tours.
