The Orthosport Victoria Institute (OSVI) is founded in 2022 by four Orthosport Victoria Surgeons who recognise a gap in the healthcare system to provide all patients with a unique facility that integrates musculoskeletal injury diagnosis, rehabilitation and athletic performance with research and evidence-based practice.
This approach combines the skill set of our multi-disciplinary team, which includes Orthopaedic Surgeons, Sports Medicine Physicians, Physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologists, Strength and Conditioning Coaches and Research Scientists. The objective is to provide a ‘one-stop-shop’ for the management of musculoskeletal conditions incorporating both operative and non-operative treatment programmes, with tailored rehabilitation plans to improve patient outcomes. Our philosophy is underpinned by the concept of providing biofeedback to our patients with an array of objective musculoskeletal testing to enhance recovery and reduce the rates of injury.
OSVI will have state of the art facilities featuring a high performance rehabilitation and training centre downstairs including a 25 metre runway with Bertec force plates designed for high performance biomechanical analysis, physiotherapy and exercise physiology treatment. Upstairs will feature 5 consulting suites and treatment rooms for assessment and treatment of injuries and house our research staff.
The centre due to be completed in late 2022 will be open 7 days per week to accept new injuries and provide an alternative to presentation to your local emergency department.
We have a strong relationship with the Australian Catholic University’s SPRINT(Sports performance, recovery, injury and new technologies) Centre who will provide academic and clinical staff support for our research and teaching activities from undergraduate, to PhD and postgraduate levels including current practicing clinicians across Australia.
We look forward to welcoming you into the clinic soon.
