Founded in 1989, the South African Credit and Risk Reporting Association (SACRRA), is a non-profit, voluntary industry association of qualifying companies who share credit and risk payment performance data about their customers with our bureau members. Our membership is comprised of Banks, Non Bank Credit Providers, Microlenders, Clothing & Furniture Retailors, Insurers, Telecoms, Credit Bureaus and other entities who access consumer profile information.
Our member base also includes organizations who provide analytical and data management services to the industry.
The SACRRA manages the DATA TRANSMISSION HUB (DTH) which is an interface where credit and risk Information is securely transmitted from data contributors (DC) to the NCR-authorized credit bureaus.
It is a portal that is hosted by a software service provider, BCX, in a secured environment that allows for the data files to be submitted in a simple once-off and convenient process
All files received through the DTH are encrypted in the process to minimize the risk of data being intercepted.
These files are then pushed from the DTH to the credit bureaus who will then decrypt the data and load it on their systems.
The DTH is the only mechanism prescribed by the National Credit Regulator to submit credit information to the authorised credit bureaus. All data contributors will thus, as part of the on-boarding process, need to link to the DTH for their data submissions
