Marquis Studios is a nonprofit, arts education organization founded by David Marquis in 1977, that inspires a passion for learning by bringing the arts into schools. Marquis Studios has served over 550,000 students, 30,000 teachers and 20,000 parents in schools throughout NYC.
Our team of over 85 Teaching Artists provides a full spectrum of multicultural arts education residencies in over 140 NYC public schools in all 5 boroughs annually. Through an average of 400 residencies, Marquis Studios directly serves 25,000 children each year.
Approximately 80 percent of our programs serve students living at or below the federal poverty level and more than 50 percent of all grant-funded programming is delivered in classrooms serving students with disabilities. Marquis Studios is recognized by the National Endowment for the Arts, and was identified by name as a vital contributor to arts education in NYC in the 2019 Arts in Schools Report (NYC Department of Education, 2019).
