Archéo-Mamu Côte-Nord is a non-profit archeology organization whose name is derived from the French word "archeology" and the word in the Innu language "mamu", which means "together". This name refers to the unifying mission of the organization and its unique way of building on the rich archaeological heritage of the region, with the collaboration and respect for all the cultures and nations of the North Shore. Archéo-Mamu is also co-managed by Indigenous and non-Indigenous people from the region. Archéo-Mamu carries out projects aimed at the conservation and enhancement of the regional archaeological heritage in addition to raising awareness among North Shore and North Shore people of the fragility of this unique resource. Archéo-Mamu is also active as a consultant throughout Quebec.
