For several years, the founders of Pituq Co. have been raising funds to support the underprivileged people in Lombok by collecting cash, clothes and other useful items and distributing them to the people who most need it. In April 2018 the charity work was expanded into an NGO in order to support the people even more. Since the earthquakes hit the island of Lombok in July and August 2018, Pituq Community Foundation together with over 100 volunteers have been working to help the people affected. Necessary supplies such as food, water, hygiene products, clothes, tarpaulins, blankets have been distributed to over 400 locations around Lombok.
The foundation volunteers have since distributed over 500 water filters and set up two reverse osmosis water filter plantations for a total of 13 500 liters of clean drinking water daily. All in all over 30 000 people benefit from these filters every day by receiving clean drinking water.
Dozens of public sanitary facilities have been built in affected villages for hygiene and disease prevention, thousands of children have received school materials, toys and trauma management and we keep working every day to find ways to provide the people with necessary aid to rebuild their lives again whether it is in jobs, education or housing.
Pituq Community Foundation is also working closely with several schools to help them with material aid and the foundation is now also building an earthquake resistant school in a rural part of Lombok.
Pituq Community Foundation has also initiated ecobrick projects in 4 villages in West Lombok and Central Lombok, to clean the environment from and educate about plastic pollution.
