Initial Teacher Training (primary, secondary & SEND), bringing 100+ new teachers into South Yorkshire & Derbyshire schools.
Formerly a Teaching School (STSA).
The Teacher Training arm of the South Yorkshire Teaching Hub.
Our initial teacher training is for those wishing to work in primary, secondary or special schools, and is run via School Direct - which provides a great combination of academic study and hands-on classroom experience in one year. We work with 60 schools across South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire, and have an excellent track record of getting our trainees into their first teaching job.
We also run the National Modern Languages SCITT (School Centred Initial Teacher Training) which is the only national teacher training course for modern languages, and is a unique partnership between state and independent schools.
STSA is a partnership with many different schools, but is based at Silverdale School in Sheffield, an Ofsted-rated 'Outstanding' school, which has been named 'Top State School of the North' by the Sunday Times in 2017. Silverdale is the founding school of Chorus Education Trust, which aims to provide outstanding education to the young people locally.
