The Organization for Transformative Works (OTW) is a nonprofit organization established by fans to serve the interests of fans by providing access to and preserving the history of fanworks and fan culture in its myriad forms.
The OTW engages in legal advocacy to represent fans' interests in legal and government discussions about copyright's effects. We also produce ongoing projects for public use. Please see our Affiliated pages for more information.

The OTW is an all-volunteer organization, and we have nearly 1000 of them across the globe. We have been an entirely virtual workplace since our inception in 2007.
We recruit in various areas such as coding, systems administration, technical support, human resources, legal, finance, fundraising, webmasters, translation, documentation, graphic artists, platform design, strategic planning, editors and proofreaders, academic reviewers, wiki management, and communications. In addition, we have unique positions such as tag wranglers, who classify content at our most used project, the Archive of Our Own.
