Our Mission:
To conduct animal rescue by providing medical care and placing animals facing impending euthanasia into foster and permanent homes, to increase awareness for the need to spay/neuter all pets, establish a mobile spay/neuter clinic, and to work with and advise animal shelters in central Arkansas on animal welfare issues.
CARE was established in 1998 for the dual purposes of rescuing abandoned dogs and cats facing euthanasia, as well as providing programs to help people spay or neuter their pets. From a group of four initial volunteers, CARE has grown into hundreds of volunteers who devote thousands of hours to its rescue and spay/neuter operations. Since CARE does not have a shelter facility, we use this website as a virtual shelter where you can view pets available for adoption and submit the Adoption Online Application.
CARE is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of Laura Lamps, President; Becky McCauley, Vice President; Ava M. Hicks, Secretary; Harry Light, Treasurer; Kim Miller, Mary L. Parker, Jennifer L. Smith, Fletcher Cotton, Daniel W. Dye, Liz Russell, and member emeritus Virginia Boyd. CARE is an Arkansas nonprofit corporation and a charitable organization under Internal Revenue Code section 501(c)(3) eligible to receive tax-deductible donations.
