The Swansea Building Society was founded as a mutual Building Society in 1923. The Society is one of only three remaining mutual Building Societies in Wales and the only Building Society or Bank with its headquarters in West Wales and branches in Swansea, Mumbles, Carmarthen and Cowbridge.
The Society's principal objective is the provision of mortgages secured on residential property for the use of members particularly in the South West Wales area. These mortgages are funded by personal and business savings deposited in a variety of traditional branch based instant access accounts offered by the Society, combined with high levels of personal service to meet the needs of its members and safeguard their interests.
The Society is committed to preserving and enhancing its identity as an independent mutual building society offering:
* Investors the provision of competitive savings products backed by a traditional branch service where staff and management are able to offer personal attention to the individual requirements of members in a friendly, efficient and accomodating manner;
* For borrowers, the ability and intent to give individual consideration at senior management level to every enquiry.
