Created by Law No. 98/023 of 24 December 1998 on the civil aviation regime, the Cameroon Civil Aviation Authority (CCAA) also called the Aeronautical Authority, is a public administrative establishment placed under the supervision of the Ministry of Transport. the supervision and development of civil aviation in Cameroon, the CCAA's mission is:
- Guarantee the safety of air navigation, the safety of aircraft operations, as well as the safety of civil aviation;
- To organize the exercise of civil aviation activities;
- To guarantee a rational and efficient use of the aeronautical infrastructure ...
- Among the structures of the CCAA, there is the Air Transport and Regulation Directorate which is responsible for developing national air transport policy, and for coordinating the development of regulations concerning the exercise of the activity of civil aviation, it is also responsible for:
- To participate in the negotiation of bilateral and multilateral air agreements;
- Develop economic studies and produce statistics to monitor the development of the sector;
- Monitoring compliance with the rules relating to competition, air transport contracts, transport conditions and air passenger rights, etc.
