C-Res was established in 2012 to ensure the successful and transparent delivery of the BMA Local Buying Program and now continues to deliver the Local Buying Program (LBP) and administer the Local Buying Foundation (LBF) for BHP. C-Res is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day deliverables of the Program including liaising with local suppliers and BHP, BMA and BMC employees who use the LBP.
In addition, C-Res has dedicated Business Development Advisors located throughout the regions who are responsible for the ongoing support, engagement and mentoring of Suppliers registered with the Program. C-Res also have experienced Program Administrators to manage all transactional activities through the Program.
The LBP is a targeted program providing procurement opportunities for small, local and Indigenous businesses, with annual turnover less than AU$10M and who have a significant physical presence in the eligible regions surrounding BHP Operations. These businesses have the opportunity to competitively supply goods and services via the Program to BHP Minerals Australia Assets in their state.
Building on local capabilities and opportunities for growth in current and emerging industries, the LBF supports projects and programs which facilitate workforce development, innovation, and the productive capacity of business and industry to grow the potential of their regional economies.
The LBF is a key element to the Local Buying Program, delivered in partnership between BHP and C-Res in the local footprints where BHP Minerals Australia operates in New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, and Western Australia.
