Puffer Malarkey Collective is a San Diego-based restaurant group founded by Brian Malarkey and Christopher Puffer. Working side-by-side for over a decade, we launched the original Searsucker and Herringbone venues, building the Fabric of Social Dining restaurant group, which we sold to Hakkasan in 2012. Since then, we’ve been not-so-quietly building our empire here in Southern California, starting with the award-winning Herb & Wood in 2016. Proven fine-dining operators, our portfolio has expanded to include Herb & Sea in the coastal community of Encinitas, ANIMAE in Downtown San Diego, Herb & Ranch in Orange County’s Irvine Company’s UCI Research Park, and Le Coq in La Jolla.
Each of our concepts boasts an impressive range of culinary and design expertise and appeals to a wide variety of potential consumers. From theatrical fine dining to food halls and business parks, we take pride in tailoring our projects to match any type of space and client relationship.
