Gateway to Science Center, Inc. inspires the discovery of science through hands-on experiences.
Gateway to Science began as the vision of community volunteers passionate about bringing informal science learning opportunities to people of all ages in North Dakota. In November 1994, Bismarck became the home of the first hands-on science center in North Dakota. Since that time, we have established a reputation as an educational resource for our community, region, and state.
Significant growth in the state of North Dakota and an emphasis on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) in education and the workforce are driving increased demand for our services. To meet these community needs, Gateway to Science opened a state-of-the-art facility with exhibits demonstrating the science happening in North Dakota, and expanded educational outreach programming for students, educators and the general public.
The new Gateway to Science center is located at 1600 Canary Drive, Bismarck, across from the MDU Resources Community Bowl, overlooking the Missouri River to the west, and visible from I-94.
