The Anderson Valley AVA was created in 1983. The Anderson Valley Winegrowers Association (AVWA) is a non-profit 501(c)6 organization established in 2005 to support and promote Anderson Valley as a world-class, wine producing and wine grape growing region specializing in producing award-winning cool climate Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, sparkling, and Alsatian wines that showcase the unique terroir and climate of our wine region. Our members are dedicated to protecting our environment so that our natural resources and farmlands are preserved for future generations.
The Association includes winery members, growers and associate businesses or individuals. The Association produces festivals and wine country events; educates and informs consumers and media; promotes the Anderson Valley wine region and affiliate businesses supporting wine tourism; and advocates for the promotion and protection of the Anderson Valley wine and grape industry.
Along with promoting the Anderson Valley as a viticultural region, we also work to build relationships within our local community. To-date approximately $427,000 has been donated to our local community organizations.
