Delphinus is an organization founded in Quintana Roo in 1990 responsible for the operation of 6 habitats for marine interaction in Quintana Roo: Delphinus Xcaret, Delphinus Riviera Maya, Delphinus Xel-Há, the Interactive Aquarium of Cancun, Delphinus Puerto Morelos and Delphinus Hyatt Ziva.
It is the first corporation dedicated to the interaction with dolphins distinguished as a Socially Responsible Company according to the methodology of the Mexican Center for Philanthropy, CEMEFI, for 11 consecutive years. Its animal behavior and management processes are certified as well as its veterinary standards by the Alliance of Marine Mammal Parks and Aquariums, AMMPA and by the International Association Marine Animal Trainer's Association.
It collaborates in academic exchange programs and research with UNAM, CINVESTAV, CONACyT, UABCS, Universidad de Barcelona, University of Cambridge, and The City University of New York; is member of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Aquariums and of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums of the Mexican Republic.
During 2015 it received over 319 thousand people and provides 490 jobs in average.
It contributes with more than 95 million pesos in federal, state and municipal taxes annually.
