The Mainstay Foundation, a 501(C)3 registered nonprofit organization, is a leading national organization in the Shi’a Muslim American community. The Foundation focuses on research and education, capacity planning and development, and strategic initiatives for the broader Shi’a Muslim American community, providing platforms and resources for collaboration and cooperation between centers and organizations in its national network. The Foundation has published several books on Shi’a doctrine, history and thought. It holds a yearly conference called the Engage Conference, bringing together upwards of fifty (50) Shi’a Muslim centers and organizations from across the continental United States. The Foundation also holds regular visits to the Holy City of Najaf for professionals and students to experience a unique cultural enrichment program hosted by the Islamic Seminary of Najaf. The Foundation similarly hosts leading scholars and professors from the seminary in community tours in the United States, engaging with universities, think tanks, and community centers.
