The Chicago Steel will play in their 25th season in the United States Hockey League (USHL) in 2024-2025. The organization has been lauded for its on-ice accomplishments and focus on affordable family entertainment since it moved to Geneva, IL in 2015.
Since the 2014-2015 season, the Chicago Steel are the winningest franchise in the sixteen (16) team United States Hockey League. During that time, the Chicago Steel have earned:
• Two (2) Clark Cup Championships
• Two (2) Regular Season Titles (Anderson Cup)
• Three (3) Conference Championships
The Chicago Steel have produced a top-three NHL Draft pick in three of the last four NHL Drafts (Owen Power, #1 Overall in 2021, Adam Fantilli, #3 Overall in 2023, Macklin Celebrini, #1 Overall in 2024). The Steel are the first team in USHL history to have alumni win the Hobey Baker Memorial Award in consecutive seasons after Adam Fantilli won the award in 2023 and Macklin Celebrini in 2024.
Since the inaugural 2000-2001 season, the Steel have seen 59 players drafted to the NHL with 31 of those selections coming in the last five NHL drafts, and over 300 Steel players have advanced to NCAA Division I teams.
Steel players are recruited from across the country and internationally. They live with host families during their time in Chicago and the team assists each player in education options while with the team. Education and development as players/individuals are keys to their success.
