Hi, I'm Alexandra - owner and founder of Wanderlust Africa. I was mesmerized by the culture and traditions of Africa on the day I discovered West African drum and dance while living in Australia! The powerful rhythm, the vibrancy that sparks between the drummers and dancers and the lively beat – I was in awe! I then embarked on a three-month drum and dance sabbatical travelling through West Africa that completely changed my life. I traded my high-paying corporate career for a volunteering position in Southern Africa, became a travel consultant in Nairobi, and finally set up my own travel business. Africa to me means "feeling alive"! Everyone should carry a little bit of Africa inside them: happiness, gratitude towards the things you have, feeling content and truly living in the here and now. My passion for cultures and diversity has taken me to new places throughout my life. Sometimes I wonder whether I'm African, Australian or European while, in fact, I'm a pedigree, German.
