The company was founded in 2006 in Riga, Latvia. The portfolio of the company started to form in 2006 with the client-based game Dark Swords, and right after that in 2007 the company introduced the game Islands, which was later renamed to First Pirate. In 2008 AmberGames released online medieval strategy game 1100AD, which is considered to be one of the most popular and most recognized games from the company.
All games by AmberGames are free to play, but for each game the company develops an additional and unique monetization system.
AmberGames cooperates with 500 publishers from around the world. AmberGames is an active participant of international fairs and conferences. Company games participate in contests, where they successfully win prized places. Right now, AmberGames portfolio consists of 9 game projects: browser, client-based, and games for social networks. About 10 projects are currently being developed. More than 6 million people from around the world play games developed by AmberGames, and some of the games are translated into more than 20 languages and all players can receive fast and qualitative support due to highly developed community management of AmberGames and its partners.
