Altius Farms is a Denver-based greenhouse farm that uses patented, vertical growing technology to produce high-quality leafy greens and herbs, year round. ‘Altius’ is Greek for higher. Higher taste, sustainability, and production, come from better farming. Our mission is to build efficient greenhouse farms that produce beautiful greens all year round for the communities we serve. Our flagship greenhouse is located in the Denver RiNo District at 25th and Lawrence St. We are centrally-located to local restaurants and a community interested in farm-to-table, local agriculture. The developer of this block, Westfield/Curtis Park Group, and Altius have partnered to design, build and operate the controlled-environment greenhouse, optimized for year-round production of leafy greens and herbs. Altius utilizes the Tower Gardens™ technology, a patented vertical growing system that is 10 times as efficient as traditional agriculture, using 90% less water and 90% less growing space, with significantly shorter growing cycles. Colorado’s demand for locally-grown produce far exceeds supply. In fact, more than 95% of Colorado’s greens are shipped in from other states, predominantly Arizona and California. Local growers have difficulty providing high-quality greens consistently throughout the year. Altius Farms is able to address this need head on, and will continue working with Denver chefs, grocers and the local community, and will continue our impact through CSA's (Community Supported Agriculture) and community events hosted in our outdoor garden. Our strategic, not-for-profit, veteran and community education partner is Veterans to Farmers. Together, we provide hands-on training, education and employment to transitioning military veterans and members of the community. We look forward to broadening our outreach to surrounding cities, counties and states, to provide an efficient, sustainable model for indoor farming to continue growing food for our communities all year long.
