Memphis Crisis Center is a 501 (c) (3) Non-Profit Organization. The Memphis Crisis Center is a volunteer-powered agency serving as an emotional lifeline through compassionate, non-biased, 24-hour live telephone support. Our trained volunteers—using a combination of empathetic listening, risk assessment, and crisis intervention—assist callers with immediate problems and link them with the long-term resources they need to cope and overcome. The program is free, safe and confidential.
The Crisis Center, in collaboration with the Tennessee Suicide Prevention Network, offers Suicide Awareness and Prevention Training for local agencies, organizations, and churches. This evidence-based training empowers participants with the information they need to recognize and effectively respond to a suicidal crisis.
