At Guide Dogs Victoria, we provide vital support for Victorians with low vision or blindness.
We have done since 1957.
Today, we lead as a trusted community organisation with services beyond our beloved Guide Dogs themselves. While the Dogs are a huge part of our organisation, we also offer a wide range of community initiatives, and specialised training and education programs. Each one is designed to make people with low vision more independent, at any stage of life.
We work to ensure people with low vision or blindness are active and involved members of the community. We do this by teaching outstanding practical skills to enhance safety, independence, confidence and quality of life: every program is individually tailored for adults and children regardless of when or how they experience a change in vision.
From maintaining a family home, to attending work, school or university, we equip people to explore and achieve their potential through whatever training is necessary. Our prompt and professional services are available for people of every age and life stage, across metropolitan and regional Victoria. We partner with people in and around their home and work environments, including schools.
The Guide Dogs Victoria team is comprised of highly qualified mobility specialists. We also refer to consulting specialists in Psychology, Counselling, Neuropsychology, Physiotherapy, Endocrinology, Optometry and Audiology.
