Uayki is a Peruvian social enterprise, founded in Cambridge, Massachusetts (USA). Its mission is to democratize access to the digital era and empower underserved communities in developing countries through access to quality education, culture, reading, telemedicine, employability, and commerce, among other benefits.
Our approach not only provides access to information but also promotes community development through technology. We believe that connectivity is essential for economic and social growth, and we work to reduce the digital divide and promote access to development opportunities. By providing people and communities with the necessary tools and resources to succeed, we seek to improve their quality of life and help them thrive.
The Uayki System consists of a low-cost portable kit that deploys an asynchronous network hosting a digital ecosystem of useful platforms and resources. This innovative technological solution provides low-income people in peri-urban and rural areas with access to information and education, allowing multiple users to navigate simultaneously through a friendly, secure, and high-speed experience, without the need for a permanent internet connection or high broadband.
Uayki has worked for over 7 years hand in hand with different companies, NGOs, communities, municipalities, and public and private institutions in more than 11 departments - regions of Peru. Some of its most recognized clients and allies are: OLE, UN, USAID, the DRELM of MINEDU-PERU, ProInn贸vate of PRODUCE-PERU, Repsol, Buenaventura, Danper, Petrotal, American Tower, IpSI, Practical Action, Markham College Foundation, among others.
It should be noted that in 2022, with the support of the UN-IOM, USAID, and OLE, Uayki expanded to Guatemala, being its first major international project.
